This .htaccess file builder is a great tool if you have made changes to the structure of your web site or have moved web pages this tool will help you build a permanent redirect code that redirects the users to the new page automatically (even if you delete the old files). Other benefits of 301 Permanent Redirect are:

Your users dont reach a web page that is unavailable
Search Engines understand that your web page has moved and new pages get indexed.
Your PageRank is transferred to the new web pages as well (Not true with all search engines).

Using the .htaccess 301 Permanent Redirect Code Builder

Once you download this tool and run it, it will ask you for the location of the old web page. This is the web page that you are replacing.

Please Note: DO NOT ENTER THE FULL URL OF THIS WEB PAGE. Only put the relative path from the root directory (the directory where your home page files are).
For example, if your old url is www.yoursite.com/contact-us.html, you should only put /contact-us.html.

In the next field (New Web Page URL), you should put the FULL URL of the new web page. So in the example above, your new url should be entered as http://www.yoursite.com/contact.php.

Once you are done entering the URLs, Hit Generate and you will get a code that you can use to create a .htaccess file. If you already have a .htaccess file, you can add this code to that file, else, you can create a new .htaccess file.
